United We Can
Victory Outreach Las Vegas was started in 1991. Right before Thanksgiving in November of this year Pastor Benny and Sister Evelyn Jaques landed at 500 N. 28th. (now 540 N 28th St.) with nothing but a God given vision that told them: what I (God) have done in your life I am going to use you to do the same in other people’s lives! Pastor Benny grew up in Orange County, California. The neighborhood that he lived in was riddles with gang warfare and drug addiction. In his teenage years Pastor Benny became what we would call a product of his environment. As time went on, he live a lifestyle of drug addiction and crime that landed him in various correctional institutions such as; Chino, Solidad, Tracy, etc. He spent the better part of 10 years behind bars. He crime partner and now ministry partner wasn’t fairing much better. Sister Evelyn also found herself in prison during this period of time. While serving his time in prison, a group came into the jailhouse where Benny Jaques was doing hard time. This church bore the name indicative of the mission God had given them. The Church was and still is Victory Outreach! Victory Outreach went into the prison and preached the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Benny Jaques gave his life to the Lord on that faithful day; thus beginning his journey as a man of God. When he was released from prison he began attending Victory Outreach Santa Ana, California. Shortly after, Evelyn joined him in marriage and from that point on the two of them served the Lord under the leadership in the Victory Outreach Church in Santa Ana. After 10 years of marriage and ministry in California God sent this grateful couple with their 3 daughters to the city of Las Vegas to duplicate the miracle that he had accomplished in their lives. Pastor Benny and Sister Jaques have been in Las Vegas doing God’s work for 17 years now. He and his wife are both regional pastors that oversee a number of other churches in the Nevada Region. This awesome couple has changed the lives of countless drug addicts and gang members all over the greater Las Vegas Valley. His 3 daughters have also taken up the banner of ministry and serve God just as fervently as their parents do. The Church that Benny and Evelyn Jaques Pastor, is recognized by many city officials including the mayor Oscar Goodman as a lighthouse where men, women, and young people can find refuge and find purpose for their lives.
